Michigan Fleet Master Co., LLC. was founded in the late months of 1991 in Detroit, MI by Jay L. Mason who’s experience with commercial vehicles actually started at birth. “My father was a fleet mechanic, and then went on to start a small transport company”. The importance of cost control was evident and instilled in Jay by his father on a daily basis.

“Being raised in an environment where controlling vehicle maintenance costs was key, has given me an edge as far as understanding what our customers truly need. I first started wrenching on trucks at the age of 12, doing oil changes and such on my father’s fleet, and you better believe, quality and attention to detail was always the first lesson of every day.”

As the years passed Jay went on to train at some of the most respected technical schools in the country. First becoming Master Certified in the state of Texas , and earning a degree in Mechanical Science, while still working as a fleet mechanic for one the largest transport companies in the world.

Steady in his career, the need for a truly dedicated fleet maintenance vendor was voiced by many of the people Jay had come to meet in the industry. The need for a company that could adapt to the specific needs of each customer individually. This brought about an idea, an idea in which has now lead Michigan Fleet Master to become an industry leader.
